The yearbook contains articles, reports, documentary publications on archaeography, archiving, source studies, historiography of Russian history from the 16th-18th centuries. to the present day. Particular attention is paid to the time of the Great Patriotic War (Tikhomirov readings "On the 60th anniversary of the Victory", materials on the life and work of front-line historians, on the collection and publication of documents of the war years, etc.). Articles and publications dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Moscow State University, about the activities of the Archives of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Department of Manuscripts of the National Library of Russia, about technotronic archives, about prominent historians of the 20th century have been placed.
