Basic methods of computer network design and analysis. Study guide
The problems of choosing structures, complex accounting of the distribution of functions and performance of computer networks are considered. The methods allowing to determine the shortest structures of computer networks for terminals distributed over the territory, the methodology for determining the shortest structures with a given configuration are described. The features of the functioning of the computer network are characterized, taking into account the shortest routes, traffic volumes, duplication of geographically located servers. Special attention is paid to the issues of complex evaluation of computer network performance. The main provisions of the author's contour method based on polynomial approximation and detailing of the description of traffic routes for solving not only analysis problems, but also optimization problems are presented. Models and methods of calculating parameters for performance analysis for various variants of terminal computer networks, WAN and ring LAN are considered. The solutions of optimization problems according to the criterion of cost costs are given.
