The paper examines the ideological and legal origins of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, which is one of the most working international legal documents. The book includes the author's publications on the selected topic over the past 20 years in Russia and abroad. A scientific and practical analysis of individual articles of the Convention is carried out on the basis of the precedents of the European Court of Human Rights. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of the interpretation of the so-called new rights.
