Fairy tales in drawings by Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin
This collection is an analogue of the convolute, made up of books, with drawings by Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin. He created hundreds of illustrations for fairy tales – samples of Russian folklore and folk tales arranged by A.S. Pushkin and A.S. Roslavlev. Since 1902, the printing house of the Expedition for the Procurement of State Papers (EZGB) and its successor, the Goznak Joint-stock Company, have repeatedly published and republished "Fairy Tales" with drawings by I.Ya. Bilibin. The proposed book, in addition to the famous "Fairy Tales", includes "The Little Mermaid" by G.H. Anderson and the "Flying Carpet" from the collection of Arabic fairy tales "1001 nights", the illustrations for which were created by the artist during the emigration period.
