This work is a continuation of the monograph "Philosophy of Criminal Law: Posing a Question" published in 2019. If in the previous work the object of research was criminal law thought, then the object of this book has already become the branch knowledge itself, which has its own laws of being. The author investigated the genesis of knowledge, its composition, connection with cognition and consciousness. Identified the subjects of knowledge, assessed their priorities. He determined the objects of knowledge, their state and the factors influencing their formation. In conclusion, he formulated the causes of the crisis of criminal law and tried to outline the trajectory of the emergence of new things in the science and practice of this industry. The epistemology of criminal law is considered as part of social epistemology — one of the modern fields of knowledge research, which deals with the study of the main ways of cognition of social reality, including criminal law. The research materials can be used in the development of recommendations for monitoring socio-legal processes, preventing the negative consequences of using modern technologies of social management and manipulation.
