The textbook, addressed primarily to graduate students and applicants of higher educational institutions of physical culture, aims to expand and deepen their knowledge of the history and philosophy of science, as well as to help in preparing for the exam on the candidate's minimum "History and Philosophy of Science". The important and debatable problems of the history and philosophy of science are analyzed: the concept and history of science; the subject of philosophy, its relationship with science; the subject, basic concepts and meaning of the philosophy of science; logical, methodological and socio-cultural problems of the philosophy of science. At the same time, the general theoretical provisions of the history and philosophy of science are used to analyze specific problems of the history and philosophy of sports science. The authors of the textbook rely primarily on the results of their own research of the problems discussed. But in order to avoid one-sidedness in their solution, to give readers the opportunity to choose one or another point of view themselves, the views and arguments of other authors on the issues under discussion are presented. The textbook is also recommended for students, undergraduates, teachers. researchers, anyone who is engaged or just interested in the problems of the history and philosophy of science, including sports science.
