Methods of optimization of routes in CAD of linear structures
This book is for everyone who designs and builds linear structures (railways and highways, pipelines, canals, etc.), learns how to design and build them, or creates design automation tools for their practical application. It summarizes more than 40 years of research and software development experience in this field, starting with the systems "Profile", "Profile-2A" and "Profile-2P" that were widely used in the 70-80-ies of the last century. The theoretical foundations of computer development of design solutions based on mathematical models, modern methods and algorithms of optimization and design programs are presented. Information is given about new design systems in which designing programs have found practical application. These systems belong to the class of Intelligence Systems (Intelligent systems). The mathematical apparatus used in the book is minimized and explained in the text, which provides an understanding of optimization algorithms in the presence of mathematical training in the scope of the program of an ordinary technical university. An unprepared reader will easily understand what has been done and what is new in the book. To understand how this is done and how a computer designs, certain intellectual efforts are needed. To help the reader, the necessary information from mathematics is presented in the appendix, which is recommended to be read in advance. The book can be useful for graduate students, undergraduates and students of universities of transport and construction profile, practitioners in this field and CAD developers.
