Metodi i praktika prostranstvennogo analiza
Methods and practice of spatial analysis
Book Description
This introductory book introduces techniques and methods of spatial analysis and spatial statistics using GIS. Each chapter presents a separate group of methods and metrics, explains how to interpret the results, and provides practical examples. Among the topics covered in the book, you will find: description and display of data through exploratory spatial data analysis; analysis of geographical distribution and point patterns; spatial autocorrelation; spatial clustering; geographically weighted regression and least squares regression; spatial econometrics. Practical examples combining theory and practice are linked into a single study using software and are accompanied by illustrated manuals. The exercises are solved twice: first with the help of ArcGIS, and then with GeoDa. Using a simple methodological framework, the book describes a data set, explores spatial relationships and associations and builds models; provides a critical interpretation of the results; discusses the advantages and disadvantages of various methods of spatial analysis. The publication will be useful for graduate students and researchers engaged in the analysis of geospatial data through the prism of spatial analysis, including anyone who uses geoinformation systems in ecology, geography and social sciences.
