Book Description
The first block of articles is devoted to the formation of the most important institutions of the Catholic Church, which will be destined to play a major role in the history of the Middle Ages: the formation of the cult of saints and the forms of hagiographic legends are considered on the material of the late Empire; the early Christian prehistory of the institute of papal legates is also considered. As in previous issues, much attention is paid to highlighting specific options for the dialogue between the authorities and society. The special role of Paris both as a capital and as a locus of power manifested itself in the course of the dramatic events of 1356-1358. The specifics of the management of imperial lands is revealed on the example of the policy of Emperor Sigismund with the help of the concept of "openness" of territories, developed in German historiography. Consideration of the institutions of representation continues, this time on the example of the Livonian lands. The publication contains the publication of translations of sources (letter of Peter the Venerable to Eloise, "Confession" by Perkin Warbeck). The issue also includes a block of articles dedicated to the memory of OI Varyash. For historians and a wide range of humanities readers.
