The main place in the issue is given to the reader's conference of the journal "Middle Ages" held in the fall of 2019 - "Rethinking the Middle Ages or, an audit of Russian medieval studies." The speeches of the participants of two sections devoted to the problems of power and feudalism are presented. In continuation of the exchange of opinions that took place, an invitation to a discussion about the nature of medieval property is published.
