Odyssey 2014. A man in history

Book Description
The twenty-fifth issue of the almanac is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of its founder, the outstanding humanist A.Ya. Gurevich. A special section analyzes the methodological and epistemological credo of the researcher. The rubric “Imitatio Christi in the Religious Culture of the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times” publishes articles by domestic and foreign authors on how the “imitation of Christ” was comprehended in texts of various genres and how the semantic content of this concept changed from the early Middle Ages to the beginning of the New Age. In the section "Is it possible to study the history of everyday life in the Middle Ages?" collected materials of the round table of the same name. Specialists in the history of law, political and social history were looking for approaches that would make it possible to productively apply the research apparatus of the history of everyday life to the source base available to medievalists. Of particular interest to the reader, of course, will be the traditional heading "Problems of Social History" - this time it includes articles on Venetian policy towards "strangers" in the late Middle Ages. For historians, cultural historians, specialists in the field of humanitarian knowledge and a wide range of readers.
