Olimpiyskie igri v medalyah i znakah (podarochnoe izdanie v korobe)
The book is based on a collection of medals, badges, Olympic diplomas and symbols from several foreign and domestic collections. The selection presented in the book is the rarest collection not only in Russia, but also in the world of more than 200 award-winning Olympic medals of all degrees of dignity and commemorative medals of all Olympiads, starting with the first modern Summer Games in Athens in 1896 and the Winter Games in 1924 in Chamonix. Each medal is given a detailed description of it, including the weight and overall characteristics and the metal from which they are made. The images of the award medals are harmoniously complemented by the personal diplomas of the winners of the Olympic competitions. In addition to the award medals, a collection of special awards (medals of the International Olympic Committee), unknown to a wide audience, issued to figures of the international Olympic movement for outstanding services to the sports community, is shown. In a separate section of the book, more than 500 official badges of athletes participating in competitions and employees of the Olympic services of each of the past Olympiads are collected, and this is taking into account the fact that the number of services involved in organizing and servicing the Games has steadily increased with the increase in the number of participants in the games and sports disciplines. A special place in the published work is occupied by a selection of more than 2000 signs of the teams of the participating countries of the Games and the signs of the NOC (national Olympic Committees of the participating countries). Using their example, one can trace the history of the development of the Olympic movement both in individual countries and on entire continents. The text of the book is compiled in Russian and English. 2nd edition, expanded.
