The book was published in March "I.V.Stalin: Myth". Understanding. It was created on the basis of the materials of the roundtable discussion "Design thinking of the Stalin era" organized by the Media Institute as part of the "Engish" scientific and educational forum. 5-6, 2003. Sciences (both natural and humanities) during the totalitarian regime of Stalin. The main stereotypes that dominate the consciousness of modern Russian society are analyzed. On the one hand, it is a myth about the flourishing of science under Stalin, and on the other hand, it is about the resistance of "honest and noble" scientists to the pressure of ignorant Stalinist administrators. The authors of the collection examine the design thinking of the Stalin era from the perspective of such problems as propaganda and "academism", political revolution and scientific revolution, and the interaction of totalitarian state and science.
