Book Description
The book contains the results of clinical, genetic, epidemiological and pathological studies of a wide range of schizophrenia. The research was conducted at the Institute of Psychiatry of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in the 70s. The presentation of the clinical material is given in several aspects: age; schizophrenia of mature and late childhood); genealogical features of personality and manifestation of psychosis in relatives of patients); the course of the disease in out-of-hospital conditions (including issues of working capacity and social adaptation of different social groups). The principle of clinical and genealogical analysis is distinguished by the presentation of laboratory data (pathopsychological, neurophysiological, biochemical, immunological, etc.) In the relevant sections of the book, not only data concerning patients are given, but also characteristics of the frequency of biological signs in different groups of relatives.
