The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
This book is a new edition of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. It is printed according to the French edition of Charles Fürn (1794-1859), to which Gustave Doré created a series of illustrations in 1872, which included 118 drawings in the text and 29 separate strip illustrations. The text is given in the translation by E.I. Peskovskaya, which she created for the publication of M.O. Wolf, which was published in 1889 and then repeatedly reprinted. This is the most accurate translation of the work of R.E. Raspe and G.A. Burger into Russian, and therefore the closest to the original German edition of 1786. The text, freed from subsequent changes and layers of the XIX-XX centuries, and a complete set of illustrations by Dore makes this book the new, most accurate and informative edition of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen in modern Russia.
