The incredible adventures of Lovelace and Babbage. The (Almost) true story of the first computer
Meet two Victorian geniuses: Ada Lovelace— a mathematician, an avid gambler, a protoprogrammer, the daughter of Lord Byron, and Charles Babbage, an eccentric but unsuccessful inventor. After reading in 1842 a description of Babbage's plans for a giant computing machine, Lovelace added comments to this work — in volume they turned out to be three times longer than the original text. Her notes contain the first programming ideas — and this is a hundred years before the creation of a computer! Unfortunately, Lovelace died of cancer ten years after the publication of her observations, and Babbage never built his car. But don't despair! "The Incredible Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage" is a graphic novel about an alternate universe where our heroes have completed their car. They use it to overcome crazy economic crises, fight the scourge of spelling mistakes, explore the limits of mathematics and, of course, fight crime — for the benefit of London and science! This comic is full of interesting historical facts (which are accompanied by references to real documents) and twisted schemes of Babbage's steam computer. An exciting and extremely unusual fantastic reading.
