The wonderful journey of Nils with wild geese
The book by the Swedish writer, Nobel Prize winner and member of the Swedish Academy Selma Lagerlef (1858-1940) "The Amazing Journey of Nils Holgersson with wild geese in Sweden" (1906-1907) was conceived as a guide to geography for children, but turned into a fascinating magical story that has received truly worldwide recognition among children and adults. In our country, the story of the adventures of Nils remains the most famous work of Lagerlef, it has been repeatedly reprinted in various translations, but the most popular was the free retelling published in this edition, created by 3.M. Zadunayskaya and A.I. Lyubarskaya. The publication is accompanied by an award-winning series of illustrations by the famous Moscow artist Boris Diodorov.
