The long-awaited HomePod update has brought many useful innovations. The second-generation model not only sounds better, but can also claim to be the main device for controlling smart home gadgets. In addition, the HomePod 2023 boasts a built-in temperature and humidity sensor, an intelligent equalizer that adjusts the sound using a special additional microphone, and a spectacular light panel on the upper end makes every interaction with Siri more pleasant.

Connecting the HomePod to other devices and smart speakers from Apple is as simple as possible, and control is carried out both by voice commands and using the touch panel. You can stop and rewind tracks, adjust the volume level, and also call Siri with a long press. Scanning the room, the speaker automatically adjusts the sound, in combination with the design of high-frequency speakers and a microphone system, the speaker allows you to feel the scene.

Apple has done a lot of work on the sound of the HomePod, although the first-generation model was one of the best in its class in terms of sound quality. The unique low-frequency speaker, whose size is quite a bit smaller than the diameter of the acoustics itself, received a powerful motor that provides a diaphragm stroke of up to 20 millimeters, so it is possible to reproduce the low frequencies of the 2nd generation HomePod no worse than the high ones – an array of five tweeters with neodymium magnets installed in a circle at an equal distance from each other is responsible for them. Thanks to this arrangement, the acoustics sound great, regardless of the installation location.
