The Xiaomi Mi Box S set-top box is based on the Amlogic S905X and has 4 Cortex-A53 cores. Mali-450 is used as an accelerator. RAM for 2 GB is enough to perform all tasks. The amount of flash memory is 8 GB. The set-top box is equipped with Android 8.1 Oreo OS and a proprietary Android TV shell, which gives it the ability to connect the TV to popular video resources, download various applications from Google Play, play and listen to music.

The remote works via Bluetooth, and it has buttons for launching various video services, such as Netflix and Live TV, and it is also possible to use the Google Assistant voice assistant, thanks to which you can control the set-top box by giving voice commands. The "Assistant" makes it possible to control the TV even from the next room, and since the set-top box is easily integrated into the smart home system, it can be used to control other appliances in the house.
It is possible to play 4K HDR video format at a speed of 60 fps. The set-top box supports audio formats such as DTS and Dolby, which provide three-dimensional surround sound. The Xiaomi Mi Box S uses Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5 GHz Broadcom BCM4345 with support for 801.11ac MIMO 1x1. Also on the set-top box there is one USB 2.0 and HDMI 2.0a port.
